Little Miss Gorgeous:

A Pageant Cabaret

Vers

05/25

Welcome to Little Miss Gorgeous: A Pageant Cabaret—where talents meet tiaras, and personalities take the stage to fight for a title that frankly, isn't that prestigious. Inspired by the cult classic Drop Dead Gorgeous and the theatrical charm of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, this one-of-a-kind show blends the high-stakes drama of a beauty pageant with the musicianship of a cabaret. Each performer brings their own unique take on the pageant world, from a host who's seen it all, the judges whose qualifictions vary, and the contestants who try to charm their way to the top spot. Expect dazzling performances, questionable bribery tactics, and, of course, a healthy dose of backstage drama.

The Vision

Little Miss Gorgeous was born from a desire to create a playground for artists—a space where performers could stretch their craft, collaborate across disciplines, and bring their boldest ideas to life. At its core, the project blended improvisation with character-driven storytelling: each cast member began by developing a fully realized persona, complete with quirks, histories, and desires. Those characters were then woven into the loose but electric framework of a beauty pageant. The pageant format gave structure while still leaving room for spontaneity, comedy, and discovery, allowing both performers and audience members to experience something alive and unpredictable.

The Outcome

The experiment exceeded expectations. The show sold out completely, with the audience drawn to the originality of the concept and the infectious energy of the cast. The show not only provided an outlet for artists to take risks and play, but also sparked genuine connections between performers who had never worked together before. Cast feedback reflected the joy and empowerment of building characters from the ground up and watching them collide in a heightened theatrical world. Little Miss Gorgeous proved that when collaboration, improvisation, and narrative intersect, the result is a one-of-a-kind experience that blurs the line between comedy, theater, and spectacle.

Here's to more pageants in the future!
